Routes & Rides

Each month we try to organise a ride. The rides are not restricted to LCC members, they are open to the public. So you are very welcome to join us. The rides are pretty gentle although not suitable for young children.  Check the dates of the next rides in the diary.

Walthamstow to Friern Barnet (9 miles)
Folly Lane (off Billet Rd), Harbet Road, Argon Way (parallel to N. Circ), Angel Edmonton, Gloucester Rd, Wilbury Way, Pasteur Gdns, Tottenhall Rd, Melbourne Ave, Palmeston Rd, Whittington Rd, Bounds Green, Station Rd, Friern Barnet Rd.

Walthamstow to Ilford (4 miles)
The Quiet Route from the Village to Upper Leytonstone, Colworth Rd, Chadwick Rd, Whipps Cross Rd, Green Man roundabout underpass (straight on), Bush Rd, Blake Hall Rd, Aldersbrook Rd, Rabbits Rd, Romford Road.

Walthamstow to the City (7 miles)
South Access Rd, Black Path, Argall Way, Lea Bridge Rd, Chatsworth Rd, Powerscroft Rd, Lower Clapton Rd, Mare St, Martello St, London Fields, Broadway Market, Goldsmith Row, Columbia Rd, Arnold Circus, Chance St, Wheeler St, Folgate St, Bishopsgate; (return from Hackney: Mare St, Morning Lane, church path by St Johns, Clapton Sq, Powerscroft Rd).

Walthamstow to Camden (9 miles)
Coppermill Lane, Spring Hill, over Clapton Common, Braydon Rd, Portland Ave, Dunsmore Rd (Stamford Hill), Fairholt Rd, Queen Elizabeth Walk/Allerton Rd, Brownswood Rd, Monsell Rd, Gillespie Rd, Drayton Park, Mackenzie Rd, Market Rd, York Way, Agar Grove, St Pancras Way, Pratt St, High St (Camden).

Walthamstow to Docklands (6 miles)
Pick up Lea canal tow path heading south, Bow Flyover roundabout (walk), Three Mills, Bow Lock, Limehouse Cut, Oak Lane (Limehouse), Three Colt Lane,West Ferry Rd, Canary Wharf.

Walthamstow to Wood Green (4 miles)
Forest Rd/Ferry Lane, Tottenham Hale gyratory cyclepaths (follow signs to Wood Green) via St Loy's Rd, The Avenues, Higham Rd, Park Rd, Downhills Rd, Mannock Rd, Meads Rd, Russell Ave, Gladstone Ave, High Rd (Wood Green).

Walthamstow to Chigwell (4 miles)
Wood Steet, Walthamstow Rd, Greenway Ave, Forest Rise, Snaresbrook Rd, Eagle Lane, underpass, Falcon Way, Hermon Hill, Chigwell Road, Woodford Bridge, Chigwell.

Walthamstow to Finsbury Park (3.5 miles)
Coppermill Lane, Spring Hill, over Clapton Common, Braydon Rd, Portland Ave, Dunsmore Rd (Stamford Hill), Fairholt Rd, Queen Elizabeth Walk/Allerton Rd,Brownswood Rd, Blackstock Rd, Finsbury Park.

Walthamstow to Kings Cross or Euston
Here is a route for getting to King's Cross or Euston station. It is pleasant going through Barnsbury and Canonbury which are very quiet. Allow an hour.

Walthamstow, South Access Rd, Black Path, Argall Way and underpass to join Lea Bridge Rd cycle track going west.
Straight over Clapton roundabout, Kenninghall Rd, Rendlesham Rd, Downs Rd, Rectory Rd, Straight over junction (take care), Shacklewell Lane, Straight over Kingsland High St, Crossway, King Henry's Walk, Mildmay Grove North, Grosvenor Ave, Wallace Rd, Canonbury Park South past Canonbury Square, Straight over Upper St, Islington Park St, Bewdley St, Round Barnsbury Sq and drop down to Lofting Rd, Hemingford Rd, Copenhagen St, York Way, Goods Way
Pancras Rd: left for St Pancras, for Euston: right.
Chenies Place, Purchess St, Phoenix Rd, Eversholt St.

Same for return except from Canonbury Park South: Northampton Park, Mildmay Grove South, King Henry's Walk, Crossway
